The whole family have been over to meet you. Tears, smiles and laughter from them all.
Seeing you with them has changed the way I see life. Sitting in the room were three generations of family, across all ages, from 6 days to 70 years. It’s a beautiful realisation that time does indeed fly and that we must try our hardest to enjoy the passing of it.
It’s something I need to learn, my mind is typically in the future, or the past and rarely in the present. If you can master that, I can assure you it will help in many of the challenges that life will throw at you.
A quote from one of my favourite animated movies Kung Fu Panda states: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift… that is why they call it the present”.
Grandad Saltalamacchia was very good at taking pictures and recording video upon seeing you, it’s something he has been quite good at since I was born and it’s something I would like to emulate. I get great pleasure viewing old videos of my family (and even Kates for that matter), and I am hoping I will get to record much of your life, so you too can enjoy it.
The whole family love you dearly, and I can’t wait to see you grow up with them, learn from them, laugh with them and see you bond in different ways with each of them.
You have an incredible group of loved ones that will always support you, and for that reason I am grateful. Kindness attracts kindness, love attracts love and there’s nothing more valuable than having a close group of friends and family that share love.
It makes life far more enjoyable. We are social beings after all, so why not socialise with beings that you too respect and love.
Surround yourself with people that genuinely love you, and don’t waste time on those that don’t. Time is precious.
